Our cats
Introducing the furry feline members of our family
First, those we recently lost, followed by the group that are with us now !!!
This little girl showed up on our doorstep on Good Friday the 13th 1984. We call her Friday.
She was just a half grown kitten, about 5 months old. She was the prettiest, sweetest
long coated cat. She was with us for eighteen years.
After we had her for only a few weeks, she foolishly got into whelping box with our
German shepherd Easter Sunday. Sunday did not like Friday that close to her new puppies. Sunday picked her up and shook her. Fri was not looking too good. I had to pry her from
Sundays jaws. I then I took her immediately to the vet . She was very frightened .
She had a dislocated jaw, but was otherwise ok. The vet popped it back in place & it was fine.
For all these years the standing joke at the vets office is how Easter Sunday tried to do away with Good Friday.
Friday was not feeling quite up to par. She did not seem to be seriously ill but I wanted to have her checked out to be sure. On Friday afternoon I made an appointment for the following Monday. That evening of Good Friday the 13th of 2002 she went to sleep and did not wake up. It was as though as though she very carefully timed it that way. We will always remember her fondly. She has left us with a big empty space in our home.

This is Handsome. Loving & brave. A good hunter, but very gentle too.
We lost him to a thrombosis last year. I truly miss My big boy,
My buddy, my cuddle companion.

Someone dumped this sweet loving cat off on an August night in 1990.
He was a 6 pound, runny nosed, sneezing, bunch of fur covered ribs.
He was about 6 months of age. I took him to the vet that same day to get him
inoculated and see what we could do to make him better. Seems he was not sick
with anything more than a severe allergy. When the vet asked me his name,
I glanced at the calendar & August (for the month) popped out of my mouth.
He has been called August or Augie since. It is obvious that this 12 pounds of
glowing good health has thrived with our love and care.

This is our Splat the Aristocat. She is sweet, friendly, affectionate and always
into mischief. She is the clown of the family and knows no fear. It is obvious that
she gets into whatever she wants. Here she finds the dog food, ready for mixing for
our puppies, to be more enticing than her own cat food that was in her dish.
These photos taken in 2003. Splat passed away in early 2004.
She was very special and we miss her very much.

Here is our Cuddles cat waiting for her breakfast. She is Handsome's sister.
Dad always called her Silky because that's how she feels. She is all silky and soft.
She loves to play, especially with knotted pieces of heavy twine.
She also knows how to make herself comfortable. Here she is asleep with our little 4
pound poodle, Lulu.

For two years we enjoyed the company of the beautiful blue eyed Frankie boy.
One cold winter day he moved in, took over the house and just as mysteriously, left without any warning.

In the rear,Regina, the mother cat & from the left, Tippy tail Tom,
The princesss, Redhead, The Shadow and Augie.

Princess & Augie think the dogs grooming strange bedfellows, Jersey & CG
table is the best place to sleep.
Here is the breakfast croud patiently waiting to eat
Little Tiger likes the snuggly warmth sleeping with Shay and her puppies.
Curious George found himself a snug sleeping spot This handsom fellow is The Mask
Here is a very young Kit Kat Here she is growing up some
And This is Freddy the freeloader. Can't get near him. I had to take this with a zoom lens.
He found his way through the doggy door to the cellar where the cats dry food and water bowl
is kept. For one whole winter He came in to eat and sleep when it was very cold outside,
then just like Frankie, he moved on. I doubt he will ever be domesticated. Freddy, forever wild !
